In Akshaya Farm, we firmly believe in leading by example. We understand that to truly make a difference in each other's lives, it's essential to practice what we preach before imparting knowledge or guidance. By embodying the principles we advocate for, we not only validate their effectiveness but also inspire others through our actions. This approach fosters authenticity and credibility, establishing a solid foundation for meaningful change and mutual growth.
Akshaya Farm Advocates against the use of plastics, which poses harm to both nature and future generations. It's crucial to refrain from polluting natural resources such as water, air, and soil, while also conserving water and preserving soil quality. This can be achieved by avoiding the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and insecticides in agricultural practices. Instead, we can adopt organic and natural farming techniques, such as 'ಸಾವಯವ ಕೃಷಿ' and 'ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕ ಕೃಷಿ', to enrich Mother Earth and sustain crop growth.
At Akshaya Farm, we have been dedicated to enriching our soil through organic means since our establishment in 2013. Initially, we utilized cow dung manure, but upon receiving guidance from Nadoja Dr. Narayana Reddy, we transitioned to producing our own Cow Dung Compost. Detailed instructions on the proper method for creating Cow Dung Compost can be found in Dr. Narayana Reddy's instructional videos.
In line with the teachings of Subhash Palekar, we also began producing Jala Jeevamrutha and Gana Jeevamrutha, both of which have been extensively employed on our farm. Additionally, under the guidance of Anandji (ಆನಂದ ಆ. ಶ್ರೀ. 9448204831), we learned how to produce Gonandaa Jala (ಗೋನಂದಾ ಜಲ) following the natural death of one of our calves.
At our farm, we raise Desi cows including Sahiwal, Malnad Gidda, and Gudda breeds. We are actively involved in breeding Malnad Gidda cows and provide crossbreeding services to bolster the livestock population in neighboring areas. Our primary focus is on utilizing the dung (Gomaya - ಗೋಮಾಯ) and urine (Goumutra - ಗೋಮೂತ್ರ) of these indigenous breeds to produce organic manure. It's important to note that we do not rear Jersey or Holstein Friesian (HF) cows on our farm, as we prioritize the preservation and promotion of Desi cattle breeds.
Having achieved self-sufficiency, we are now able to offer our organic manures to fellow practitioners of organic farming, whether they operate farms, ranches, or engage in hobby gardening such as Kaithota, Hittalu, or Kitchen Gardens. Additionally, our products are suitable for those cultivating plants in terrace gardens. We take pride in providing high-quality organic manures to support sustainable agricultural practices across various scales and settings.
Please visit our other sections for more details about the Organic Manure and Farm Produce we offer.
Organic farming stands as a beacon of agricultural practice, prioritizing natural inputs and techniques to nurture crops and livestock. Unlike conventional methods, organic farming abstains from synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, GMOs, and other chemicals, opting instead for a harmonious interplay with nature.
Embracing principles such as crop rotation, cover crops, composting, and fostering natural predators, organic farmers cultivate a holistic approach to pest and disease management, soil vitality, and plant vigor. Furthermore, organic farming champions waste reduction, water conservation, and the preservation of biodiversity.
The virtues of organic farming are manifold. By curbing environmental pollution and soil erosion, fostering biodiversity, and yielding more nutritious produce, organic agriculture contributes to a healthier ecosystem. Moreover, it fosters opportunities for small-scale farmers and bolsters local food networks.
Yet, the path of organic farming is not without hurdles. Implementation and maintenance can pose challenges and financial strains for farmers, potentially leading to lower yields and higher product costs for consumers. Nonetheless, as interest in sustainable food production and eco-friendly practices burgeons, organic farming is gaining momentum.
While organic farming isn't a modern innovation, its significance has grown markedly in the 20th century, emerging as a response to the adverse effects of conventional methods. Beyond mere agricultural practice, organic farming embodies a holistic ethos that reveres nature and human welfare.
When you opt for organic food, you're not just choosing sustenance; you're embracing a commitment to sustainability and ethical stewardship of the land.
